Hawk Mountain had Deauville Flyer and Dazinski behind when successful in this 12 months ago but is 11lb higher now and closely matched with Itlaaq on C&D running last month. The latter will do well to follow up that victory off a 6lb higher mark but there are possibilities about Plato if first-time blinkers have the desired effect while Seaside Sizzler has been knocking on the door again lately. Winning hurdler Alazan also has to be interesting tackling 2m for the first time on the level, while the lack of a recent run isn't usually a barrier to success for a Sir Mark Prescott runner and Tuscan Gold won twice last year. Bow To No One is capable of making the frame again off her current mark and Mountain Hiker is usually thereabouts but Mark Johnston may hold the key to this finale. Exemplary is well drawn for a front-runner and has Silvestre De Sousa back in the plate but COMEDY ACT is still capable of winning a race like this and may appreciate the ground more. At the likely odd, he gets a tentative vote.
