Considering the record of three-year-olds in this contest it's a surprise that not one of the classic generation have stood their ground in the final declarations. That may have left the way open for MARKAZZI to add to gains made at Haydock 12 days ago. Sir Michael Stoute's gelding is 6lb higher here but still on the upgrade and, as he stays further, should relish the likely fast pace. Godolphin's handicappers can never be dismissed lightly on the Knavesmire and Invisible Man is no exception. The top weight was third in the Royal Hunt Cup and has found only one too good in subsequent starts at Doncaster and Newmarket off this mark. Axiom bounced back to form when second over 7f at Newmarket, while Pintura went close in a valuable handicap at Goodwood last month and is another to consider. Pendragon is also worth a second look as he hasn't run a bad race in tough company this year, though Brian Ellison's eight-year-old is probably still just a shade high in the weights.
