Pivoine likes the Knavesmire and won this last year racing off a 2lb lower mark. He is 6lb better off with third What's The Story but fifth Afaak could get closer racing off 5lb lower. The draw can be a factor on the round course here and Epsom winner Sky Defender has pulled the outside berth, which won’t help him assume his customary front-running berth. Tinandali and Caradoc have a good chance of reversing Epsom running in any case and Mark Johnston’s charge was earlier well behind FIFTH POSITION (NAP) at Doncaster. Roger Varian’s improver definitely needs a galloping track but was value for more than the length by which he beat Anythingtoday on Town Moor and can confirm the form. Solid Stone is another with an unfavourable high draw while Desert Icon seems best in small fields. Harrovian only beat Archie Perkins by a head at Doncaster but Great Example could figure if fully wound-up as he is weighted to dead-heat with Caradoc on their run together at Newbury in the autumn. Euchen Glen won this in 2018 but has only raced twice since and is probably better over further.
