A very close-knit affair on paper can go to Reem Three over the likes of Gracechurch, Scot Love and Awatuki, with Tears Of A Clown yet another that can make his presence felt. Given Luca Cumani's record with this type of animal, it is safe to assume that Reem Three has plenty more improvement to come after opening her account in a Woverhampton maiden last month. Given a rating of 78 for her handicap bow, the daughter of Mark Of Esteem could have been let in lightly and is one to keep on the right side of. Gracechurch has gained very narrow victories at Redcar and Bath and is still not badly treated so rates a threat as does Scot Love. The latter prevailed by a short-head only when odds-on at Kempton last time but will be suited by the trip. Awatuki was the most expensive yearling that Alan Jarvis has bought and although he has won just the once, there is plenty of time for him to come good as well. Tears Of A Clown absolutely bolted up in a Southwell maiden at the start of the month, but has topweight to overcome, while Fregate Island might need the run. King's Revenge has a 6lb penalty for a recent success on the Wolverhampton Polytrack where Ted Durcan had to work hard before Tim Easterby's colt finally stamped his authority. It would be no surprise if he were to reach the frame, but for reasons stated earlier, Reem Three is the pick in the finale.
