Mistress Twister was good value for his win over what had seemed an inadequate trip at Hamilton last time and remains well treated off just a 3lb higher mark so gets the vote ahead of Bridgewater Boys and Topatoo. The selection is one of three last time out winners in the field but the others Nevada Desert, who has a penalty, and Epicurean, who would prefer softer ground, are hard to recommend. Michael Dods has his string in good form at present so Major Magpie has to be respected but needs to improve on recent evidence, while Wing Commander has slipped to a fair mark but is hard to recommend on recent form. Fair Shake is another worthy of a mention but a bigger threat is likely to come from Bridgewater Boys. Kevin Ryan's horses could hardly be in better form at present although the son of Atraf may prefer a softer surface. Topatoo also has claims on form but is another that would probably prefer more cut in the ground and preference is for Mistress Twister, who remains well treated.
