Verdict

Defence Council and Caranbola ran in this last year. Mel Brittain's charge came out best but struggles to get his head in front. Mon Brav took advantage of a slide down the weights to score at Goodwood last time but has been raised 6lb since while Pea Shooter has disappointed this year. Polar Venture is better on the all-weather but there are possibilities about Azzurra Du Caprio back over 6f and Ron Harris does well here with his sprinters so Noverre To Go goes on the short-list despite a modest effort last time. Bonnie Charlie won at Haydock last month and was poorly drawn subsequently but we like the look of BABY STRANGE after a better effort at Epsom last time. He's well treated at present and could be the one if his young rider can find the gaps in this big field. Medici Time is capable on his day but hasn't shown much so far this term.
