Verdict

Danesmead showed promise on his Pontefract debut when second to Russian Valour but the only horse with previous racing experience may have to play second fiddle to one of the five newcomers in the race with preference for Kheleyf over Kings Point. The latter, a son of Fasliyev, represents the Richard Hannon stable that has made such a good start to the season with its two-year-olds but Kheleyf makes greater appeal. A full-brother to the useful Bint Allayl and half-brother to Nasmatt, the son of Green Desert hails from the yard of David Loder, that always warrants respect with their juveniles and it will be a surprise if he does not know enough to make a winning debut. Paul Cole has a good record with his youngsters here so Happy Crusader could be of interest if the market speaks in his favour but we are happy to side with Kheleyf.
