Lakeman, Needwood Lad and Majoum catch the eye here with Lakeman set to benefit from a promising debut. Lakeman belied his starting price when running a blinder to be a close fourth in a hot Newcastle contest on debut. That was a terrific effort and normal improvement makes him a danger to all here. Needwood Lad has a similar profile, showing lots of promise when a staying on third at Redcar. That form may not be quite as good as the Newcastle contest and he is opposed despite his trainer Richard Fahey having won the race last year. Majoum is an interesting debutant from the Godolphin camp. A son of first season sire Exceed and Excel who has done well to date, he is a half brother to the prolific sprint winner Swiss Lake, out of a winning mare. He is sure to have been well prepared and can run a big race. LAKEMAN can prove good enough.
