We open the card with a ridiculously open handicap where at least half of the twenty runners have a chance but now dropped to his best trip APPALACHAIN TRAIL is the marginal pick ahead of last time out winner Harrison George while we wouldn't be surprised to see Webbow run a big race at a price. The Ian Semple trained selection shaped nicely before not quite getting home over a mile in a similar race at Ascot last time. His last three victories have come over this trip and he looks dangerously well handicapped if he is, as we expect, is back to a bit of form. Harrison George is up five pounds in the handicap after a comfortable success at Ayr last time. That rise seems fair and he goes well at this track. Webbow returns to the mark which he carried when second best here over a mile in July. That was against comparable opposition so he could challenge at a double figure price. Roger Charlton's Splendorinthegrass is lightly raced and could improve past his rating while Dhaular Dhar is better than his recent displays and shouldn't be ruled out. A really tough opening that we suggest can go the way of Appalachian Trail
