Some interesting newcomers here including Moon Ray and Obe Brave, neither of who would need to be too special to take a hand, but preference is for Muzher, who gets the vote ahead of the Johnston pair Makai and Jack Reacher. The last mentioned stepped up on debut form when a close fourth behind Observatory Star in similar grade at Ripon when last seen in June and holds solid claims on that evidence. He makes marginally more appeal than stablemate Makai, who has a similar profile but whose form is not up to the same level. Mick Channon's Obe Brave is a son of Agnes World and makes more appeal than Iannis, who hails from the yard of Jeremy Noseda that is badly out of form at present. Howard Johnson's White Lightening may need more time and of more interest among the newcomers may be the Michael Jarvis-trained son of Xaar Moon Ray. Preference though is for the Barry Hills-trained Muzher, who showed plenty of promise on his Newbury debut and he would not need to improve much on that evidence to land this.
