Nudrah and Cinematic both won their maidens in decent fashion last time but neither looks to be particularly well treated for their first start in a nursery and a safer bet looks to be Manston, who is preferred to Millfield. The last mentioned was slightly disappointing at Catterick last time but has been dropped a couple of pounds by the handicapper since then so warrants respect. Top weight Grazeon Gold Blend lacked the class necessary for the Flying Childers but has to be of interest dropped to this grade on his first start over six furlongs. Crocodile Bay has claims on Chesham form, while David Barron's Sir Orpen is probably better than he showed in Redcar's two-year-old trophy last week. Misphire is set to go up 6lbs in future handicaps following her decent effort behind Murfreesboro in a valuable sales race at Newmarket last week and is another to consider but the vote goes to Manston. Brian Meehan's horses could hardly be in better form right now and the son of Indian Ridge, who is set to go up 12lbs in races form Saturday, should appreciate the drop to six furlongs judged by his run in the Tattersalls Stakes last week.
