Verdict

An awful race to work on if you are trying to get out at this stage, but preference here goes to Tight Squeeze, with Lord Eurolink and Stallone also among the high numbers who could have the call. The selection has to give weight away all round and also carries a 6lb penalty for her latest win, which came at Beverley last week. The six-year-old sees out this trip well and runs against plenty of others who are either fully exposed or out of form, so with going to suit she can back up that recent local success. Lord Eurolink is also as the top end of the weights here, but is capable of winning off higher marks than this and despite a slight overall drop in class this season, Mark Tompkins' gelding is consistent, gets the trip well and looks capable of producing a performance good enough to make the frame. Of the others, Stallone has been in the frame on a number of occasions since defeating Cripsey Brook at Newcastle in June. Still 8lb higher than that 10 furlong success, winning again has clearly become difficult, but the gelding will be staying on when others give best and can also be involved in the finish. Nevertheless, in looking for the winner, we will tentatively side with Tight Squeeze.
