In depth

Verdict

Little Becky is penalised for last year’s debut success over 7f at Kempton while Piranesi missed an engagement at Redcar yesterday having placed at Newmarket on his debut despite failing to get a clear run. But a couple of expensive newcomers take the eye in this including MUMTAAZ. John Gosden’s colt is a 900,000gns purchase from the family of the high-class Izzi Top and Dane O’Neill prefers his chances to those of the US-bred $450,000 filly Tawreed.
