Michael Bell's horses are beginning to come back into form again so Direct Debit has to be respected but he is far from certain to handle the testing conditions and a safer bet looks to be Oscar Snowman, who is preferred to Final Tune. The last mentioned has a 6lb penalty to carry for his win at Ayr last week and may struggle to defy that on ground softer than he has won on before so looks best watched. Luckylover ran well enough on soft ground at Warwick last week but could probably do some help from the handicapper and of more interest may be Mineral Star who has won on the soft before but is inconsistent. The vote then goes to the lightly raced Oscar Snowman who has shown improved form this year and is by Selkirk out of an unraced half-sister to Derby winner Lammtarra and should be alright with the underfoot conditions.
