BLOODSWEATANDTEARS and Zamina can dominate this maiden, although support for Cloud Rock or Lough Corrib would certainly be interesting. William Knight's colt was backed down from big prices into an SP of 8/1 ahead of his Newmarket debut but looked in need of the experience and could only manage seventh. The yard's runners tend to improve for the run so with the form looking solid thanks to the subsequent win of Major Art, he's taken to get it right this time. Zamina was outpaced on debut before staying on for fourth, one place behind No Poppy. The latter had the benefit of experience and this extra furlong will suit Zamina, who is expected to pose the biggest threat to our pick. That view would change with strong support for either Cloud Rock or Lough Corrib though. The former represents a yard who show a level-stakes profit with their juvenile runners here in recent years and this trip looks a good place to start. Lough Corrib is from a precocious family and also needs a check as the yard don't send that many here. Dazzling Valentine isn't without claims dropping in grade while Microlight could improve for blinkers and Titus Two may not be a forlorn hope despite looking the yard's second-string, however we favour Bloodsweatandtears.
