Ivan's A Star can reverse previous form with Mini Bon Bon but we prefer the claims of CAPTAIN LOUI. The selection has blinkers back on having put in his best performance in them at Southwell. Rated 65, he's the one to beat at these weights and the step back up to six furlongs shouldn't be an issue. Ivan's A Star finished over three lengths behind Mini Bon Bon in a five furlong seller here when last seen but he was asked to give the filly 12lbs that day, so with a 10lb pull we expect that form to be turned around. Mini Bon Bon will appreciate a return to this grade having struggled in nursery company last time and she should stay the trip without fuss, so can't be ruled out despite having a bit to find at the weights. My Lord returns to the scene of his course and distance winning debut and has acquitted himself well since, but he's giving 5lbs and more to his rivals and that makes life tough for Bill Turner's horse. Endorser is quickly dropped into this grade and tried in headgear which suggests he won't be living up to his pedigree while Token Gift has conditions to suit and drops in class but hasn't shown enough to be of serious interest. Renn needs a market check and Time For Applause is surely capable of better, but we like the look of Captain Loui.
