Perseverance is the name of the game with Beavrai, who is selected over Elliot's Choice and Indrani in this modest claimer. The last named is a lightly raced filly that has so far been hard to win with. However, this smaller field may see her in a better light and, as she receives lumps of weight, she may be dangerous to rule out completely. Whereas Elliot's Choice has had too many chance to be given a confident push to come good here. The fact that he is still a maiden after seventeen previous starts tells its own story and the likelihood is that, if he can find one too good then that is what he will do. This is where Beavrai comes in. He has been plying his trade in better company than this and, with the obvious plus of Kieren Fallon doing the steering, he has an ideal opening to gain a confidence booster in this company.
