In depth

Verdict

Applejack Lad is a half-brother to useful sprinter Iver Bridge Lad and is preferred to Der Blaue Reiter and Anfield of the newcomers. Marilyn Marquessa finished a close-up fourth at Kempton last month only to disappoint last time while Aweebitowinker and Cockney Bob showed only modest form on their respective debuts on the Polytrack. JAGA TIME raced up with the pace for a long way on his introduction at Southwell before fading into fourth. He could prove a different proposition on this faster surface and gets the nod with Paul Hanagan's presence boosting confidence.
