      Verdict

A tight contest despite the lack of runners. Polly Plunkett isn't guaranteed to appreciate this step up in trip unlike some of her rivals. Angel Annie went off far to quick at Newmarket last week. She is bred to stay this trip and should go well, while both Langford and Sailing through have shown enough to suggest they can win a small race. However, they do have a little to find on the book. Pongee should find improvement for the step up in trip as she is out of a mare that won three races over middle-distances. But the one to be with is Literacy, who faced some stiff tasks as a juvenile. She is bred to make a better three-year-old, as she is closely related to Group 3 winner Duck Row, who himself got better as he got older.
