L'Escapade can overcome an absence to beat May Morning, with Sunlit Skies and Moktabes worth noting in the market. David Loder normally does very well with his Yarmouth runners, and as long as L'Escapade is fit enough, he should quickly build on last season's efforts. They included a very close third to Australian at Kempton last October when he finished ahead of Unfurled. The latter came out this term to land the Predominate Stakes at Goodwood before finishing seventh to Motivator in the Vodafone Derby. Given a winter rest, L'Escapade is sure to have been well galloped, and will no doubt have his sights set considerably higher if all goes well today. May Morning has been a bit disappointing to date and will once again be there or thereabouts without being good enough, but the market may reveal whether Moktabes or debutante Sunlit Skies is good enough to trouble the selection. We are prepared to trust that L'Escapade is geared up and ready to make up for lost time.
