Verdict
Admirable Lad is 5lb higher for two runner-up efforts in June which makes life tougher. It's interesting to see blinkers applied for the first time despite his good form, suggesting connections feel there's more to come from the Bated Breath gelding. Hard Solution is enjoying a fine season in low grade handicaps and is now up to a mark of 59 after a close second at Ayr last week. Portelet Bay should be in the mix too with Ben Curtis a good booking for the Evans inmate but KNOCKABOUT QUEEN ran a fine race on seasonal debut at Windsor behind Sweet Pursuit, and the form has been boosted by the winner's subsequent success when turning over an odds-on hotpot.
