    Verdict

This appears a straight shoot-out with much dependent upon how ready BAKE is for this return to action. He shaped with major promise on both juvenile starts at Sandown and Ascot, suggesting that an ordinary maiden/novice event is there for the taking. However, he has been off for ten months, whereas El Picaro has been running consistently well in fair company and has no fitness issues at all. It's a toss-up but the Meade gelding has the classier form and hopefully will be ready to roll. The remainder have a mountain to climb in order to feature, with newcomer, Imagine Freedom, suggested as third best.
