Verdict

Like Clockwork beat FLEUR DE LA VIE over 1m4f at Kempton two runs ago but the runner-up is weighted to gain her revenge today. Ralph Beckett's filly gets the nod as she should also appreciate a first try over this longer trip and can reverse subsequent Salisbury running with Cheviot Quest. Kaiser Wilhelm has plenty of stamina in his pedigree and is also worth a second look while Key Gold is another likely to appreciate the stiffer test of stamina after finding the company too hot at York last time. Totom Chief has claims over this distance and makes his handicap debut off a potentially lenient mark while it would be no surprise to see a much improved showing from Hard Road.
