Cotton Grass, runner-up over 1m6f here last time, is easily the pick of Mark Tompkins' pair and should be thereabouts again. Go Amwell is quirky but a much better hurdler than Ponte Di Rosa, from whom he receives 4lb, and is also preferred to Kavaloti, who is better on the Polytrack. Talbot Green's only win so far came on the all-weather but he didn't run badly when fourth at Nottingham last time and has been lowered a couple of pounds since. RODRIGO DE FREITAS wouldn't want any more rain but has been gradually getting his act together again lately and is reasonably treated at present - this could be his day.
