Verdict

Polish Power could not have won with any more ease when successful at Doncaster earlier this month and Stan Moore's eight-year-old is hard to get away from here, despite a 10lb rise for that success and he gets the vote ahead of Zonergem and Fongs Gazelle. The last mentioned represents the yard of Mark Johnston so has to be respected but she would need to improve on the form shown in her latest start at Great Leighs to take a hand in the finish here so she looks best watched. Murfreesboro was well held when tried in a Listed race last time and while this is more his grade, he does need to improve to trouble the judge. Wild Pitch is hard to recommend on recent evidence and of more interest may be Zonergem. The Lady Herries-trained gelding makes his seasonal reappearance here and could be of interest on his return, particularly if the market speaks in his favour. Polish Power has solid claims though and he is hard to oppose.
