In depth

Verdict

Brenin Taran showed improved form from his debut effort when collared close home by Smokey Storm at Brighton and, with the possibility of further improvement, he looks worth chancing to go one better here and gets the vote ahead of In Transit and Fasliyanne. The last mentioned has shown promise in both starts so far but Kevin Ryan's filly needs to improve to trouble the judge so looks best watched. Miss Hollybell ran well on her debut on a soft surface but failed to reproduce a similar standard on better ground at Bath subsequently so may be best left out of calculations on the faster going today. Jim Best's Black N Brew is an interesting newcomer as is Mick Channon's Trans Island colt In Transit but Brenin Taran has some solid form to his name and he is preferred.
