Pumpkin and MAKAAM seem to be closely matched after just two starts but we just take the latter to land this maiden with Maverin looking best of the rest. The pick didn't see a racecourse as a two-year-old but has started well this season with a couple of promising runs. His good second place on debut has worked out well with the race throwing up a plenty of winners and he held that form next time up only finding a promising type too good. Pumpkin made one appearance as a two-year-old and showed a vast improvement on that run on his first and only start this year. He beat a couple of runners rated in the late eighties that day so he looks to be a fair standard and he'll be sharper for the run. Maverin has been holding his form without really showing improvement this season and is starting to look a little exposed. The ground won't be ideal and while he is capable of a big run the first two mentioned look too good. It's a tough call between the leading pair with Makaam just preferred.
