Chatshow has been in good heart of late and may well be up to returning to the winner's enclosure here, with Absolutely Soaked and Mutassem who are also capable of being involved. The selection is proven over trip and ground with a win at Bath to his name during last month, and another good effort when running no for second on the fibresand at Wolverhampton last time. The 6lb penalty here will make things tougher, but there is not a lot else in the contest in terrific form and given that the gelding is going well we will take him to maintain that form and score. Absolutely Soaked had been contesting races over much further than this until dropping down to seven furlongs when second of 18 to Inescapable at Leicester last time out. That seller proved she can handle cut, and though this trip looks short enough she may still be capable of making the frame. Anything else with a love of soft grounds is worth a look in a fairly open race, as is Mutassem, who acts over six furlongs, although the ground may have gone against the colt. But if he can pick his hooves up and repeat his course and distance second from September then he would have a definite chance. Nevertheless we will side with Chatshow to come good again and take the prize.
