Karl Burke's Zonnebeke showed improved form for the return to a mile when landing a similar race at Thirsk last month and is taken to follow up off a 3lb higher mark, with Flying Spud and City General rated the main dangers. Kings Rock won a non-handicap at Leicester last month but this looks tougher and of more interest is City General who is 6lbs better in with Kevin Ryan's horse on Leicester running. The main danger though looks to be Flying Spud, who showed improved form at Beverley last time and would have to be respected on his showing their, especially if the rains arrived. Variety Club is a rare runner in this grade and has to be respected, along with Paul d'Arcy's all-weather winner Stonor Lady but the vote goes to Zonnebeke.
