In depth

Verdict

Bamby looks to have been found an ideal opportunity to follow up a recent success but Rapscallion and Melvino should ensure that this is no cakewalk. The selection took a race at Hexham by the scruff of the neck and soon had her rivals in trouble. Another positive ride should suffice in overcoming the punitive 7lb rise. Rapscallion is undoubtedly the class act in this race. Although quirky, her chances would increase dramatically in the event of overnight rain. Melvino is probably better than his latest form suggests. He would have to be respected in the event of a return to his Hereford and Newbury form. Earlsfield Raider is something of a standing dish in plating contests. He has struggled outside of that grade of late. Boss Imperial has tumbled down the weights since running in the 2007 renewal of the Imperial Cup at Sandown. The headgear is back on Hemington this afternoon. Bamby could still be capable of more than we have seen and we offer her our confident vote.
