Verdict

Only five face the starter here and two of those have been shipped over from Ireland. Gordon Elliott's South Wing is a winner on the Flat and over hurdles and open to plenty of improvement over fences after just two runs. Eoin Doyle's mare Vinnes Friend has only had the three starts over the larger obstacles but unseated her rider at Stratford nine days ago and needs to show more. Bobowen was completing a four-timer over fences and hurdles when scoring by five lengths at Perth but that was over 2m4f on soft ground and this trip looks short of his best. He may struggle to give 12lb to ROYALE'S CHARTER if Nick Williams' six-year-old is fully wound-up. Placed efforts behind the likes of Kumbeshwar and Menorah last winter suggest he'll be too good for these.
