Native Daisy gets the vote ahead of Dear Deal and Golden Rambler, while Alcatras is one to bear in mind for each way supporters. Alcatras is a previous course winner that should have very few problems in staying the trip. However, he is only of modest ability and needs a few of the rest to under perform if he is to add to his tally of just one win from 22 starts under rules. Golden Rambler has ability locked away somewhere and will appreciate this ease in grade. The fact that he has failed to complete in his last five starts hides the fact that he is capable on his day and he should not ruled out too quickly. Watch the betting where he is concerned. Dear Deal will be a popular choice after several fair efforts in defeat this term. However, he is now into the veteran stage and, although reliable, lacks the scope of others. Therefore, we go with Native Daisy, who has at least made the frame in all bar one of her last eight starts. The Be My Native mare seems impervious to the state of the ground and, with the capable James Davies back in the plate, has plenty going for her in a race like this.
