Plenty of the connections won't mind losing their horse in the post race auction but for the winner, we like GAN EAGLA with Axango and Eddie Dowling the others of merit. Evan Williams' charge was rated in excess of these a couple of seasons ago but has shown little since returning from a long term absence. It remains to be seen as to whether connections faith has been misplaced but we'll take the chance that it isn't. Phillip Rothwell has a couple of pointers in this field and Axango looks the most interesting of the bunch. A proven front runner, he hit the frame in a recent event at Kinsale. Eddie Dowling continues in the cheekpieces and tonguetie and is notably dropping in class tonight. Dabaratsa is in a similar situation though his form has not been of the same standard. Bold Policy was formerly trained by Paul Nicholls though life outside Ditcheat has proved tough. Ophistrolie is a long standing maiden under both codes. Pertemps Power has previously been seen over trips of around a mile on the level and makes a belated run over hurdles. Billesey was a fair sort in handicap chases on soft going and the jury is very much out at present. Gan Eagla gets the nod in a race where anything could happen.
