Evan Williams is doubled handed with Chrysander and Winter Star who are both returning to the track after lengthy lay offs. On jockey bookings Chrysander would appear to be the stable first choice however we will side with WINTER STAR and will also throw in Three Ships as a likely danger. The selection has won five times in total and shaped into one of the top novice hurdlers of the summer of 2008. Two years have passed and it does remain to be seen whether of not he has retained his ability, but connections have taken no chances and have decided to down grade him into a seller to give him the best possible chance. If anywhere near his best he will be hard to beat. His stable mate Chrysander is another to drop down in grade having proved himself a tidy chaser in the making last year earning himself a rating as high as 134. He reverts to the smaller obstacles here and the best guide to his chances will be the betting market. Three Ships has the advantage of recent winning form having won a handicap at Uttoxeter last week. The handicapper has penalised him by upping him nine pounds in the weights so connections have been forced to try their luck against sellers. He does however carry a penalty for his latest win and for that reason others are preferred. Winter Star is the class act in the race and looks the percentage call.
