Verdict

NATIVE CITY has never been the easiest horse to win with but he is taken to land this novice chase at the expense of That¿s An Honour and Aldiruos. Native City is rated 100 over hurdles and is five pounds higher over the larger obstacles. His form can only be described as moderate, but at this time of the year he is more than good enough to win races. He has been knocking on the door in similar races this summer and if he can recapture his best form he will not be to far away come the business end of the race. That¿s An Honour was seven lengths clear when tipping up at the last at Towcester last month. He was unlucky that day as it was his first run over fences and had on the whole been jumping well until coming to grief. His form prior to that was pretty moderate but as long as that fall has not ruined his confidence he has every chance of redeeming himself. Aldirous has his first run over fences and is rated ahead of most of his rivals on his official hurdle rating. His last win came at Wetherby in March and if he could translate that form over fences he is sure to be in the shakeup, however Native City will be given every assistance from the saddle by McCoy and is given the vote.
