The booking of Richard Johnson for Domenico is significant enough to give John Jenkins' charge a confident vote and the improving five-year-old is taken to sweep past Blackchurch Mist, Diamonds Will Do and Red Canyon - although Xaipete has recently shown that he is not a spent force yet and is one to monitor in the betting. However, Johnson brought the best out of the ex-Irish gelding at Southwell earlier in the month and a repeat dose will make the partnership hard to beat today. This longer trip should not be a problem for Domenico and a patient ride from Johnson may see the gelding home as the winner. Red Canyon has solid enough form to recommend him as the best each way alternative for a little further interest in competitive little contest.
