Pips Assertive Way, Phoenix des Mottes, and Tanmeya are all last time out winners and Tanmeya is taken to follow up. Phoenix des Mottes landed his third win under rules in game fashion last time, but the handicapper has harshly raised him 7lbs. That gives him top weight and it may prove too severe a burden. Pips Assertive Way has landed a couple of selling contests recently, the latest over this course and distance. This front running type has been found wanting however in previous attempts at this level and is taken on. Tanmeya has yet to reach the frame in nine attempts over hurdles, but he has not camapaigned over the smaller obstacles for three years. His last time out win over fences was a vastly improved effort, and that was his first run for a year. He races off a 4lb lower mark here, and in the belief that he has improved since his last hurdles run, TANMEYA is the selection to make the most of bottom weight.
