Three days reign put in a noteworthy effort five days ago but will find the likes of Bruthuinne, Salford and Waterberg tough nuts to crack, with the latter given as the selection. Richard Johnson gets on really well with Waterberg, having ridden him to his last five wins, including at Perth in April. He seemed to appreciate the better ground at the Scottish track but since then has been campaigned under softer conditions without success. He will be a different kettle of fish here and should make the most of the 6lb he receives from Bruthuinne who also has an absence to overcome. Salford is consistent but will find this a bit tougher than of late as will Something Dandy. As we said earlier, Three Days Reign had the useful Rudi Knight well behind when runner-up at Aintree on only his second outing over fences and this lightly raced sort may reach the frame.
