Tony McCoy is a very interesting jockey booking on PAST HERITAGE and that's enough to sway us in favour of that one in this handicap chase in preference to Cloonavery with Rio Laine looking overpriced on the forecast market. The champion jockey will be getting a leg up on an Alan Jones trained mount for the first time when he partners the selection, who has also done enough in recent starts to show that he has the capability to win a race like this off his current mark especially with conditions in his favour. Cloonavery has been running well this season having placed in his last two starts the latest over timber. It can be argued that he is best over the bigger obstacles and at five pounds worse off than when just held two starts ago he has claims. Given a weight of age allowance Rio Laine escapes racing under joint top weight so while his recent efforts are off putting he should run a big race on these terms. Rince Dawn is back in his preferred discipline and is weighted to challenge but with him preferring more cut in the ground we'll side with Past Heritage.
