Verdict

We will opt for Frederic Forever to give Richard Johnson another winner, with Mollycarrsbrekfast, Gipsy Cricketer and Smile Pleeze rated the main dangers. The selection has been running well lately and, even though he has been raised six pounds for narrow defeat last time, he remains competitive to our eyes and should go close. Mollycarrsbrekfast won over today's course and distance from a mark of 69 last July, but ran well when just denied - again over course and distance - last time from today's mark. He rates an obvious danger, while Gipsy Cricketer is another to consider. He won here over two miles from a mark of 72 in July 2002 and, while disappointing of late, has now been given a chance by the handicapper, being rate 73 for today's contest. Of the others, Smile Pleeze ran respectably over course and distance last time and should be competitive for a place. Overall, though we are happy to side Frederic Forever.
