Imperative is the value selection in a very weak affair, Ravenscar and Hisar are put forward as the main rivals. The selection is superbly bred and was at one stage rated 85 on the flat. Surprisingly he has never won a race under any code but does still have some ability. He has improved with each run over fences this March and gets in here on a pretty fair mark. He should go off a double figures and so is just our sporting choice. Ravenscar gained a fortunate victory over Jazz D'Estruval the time before last, as that sole rival unseated rider mid-way through the race. However he did run a decent third behind Green Ideal at Sedgefield last time and should be in the shake up here. Hisar hit winning form at Chepstow last time when beating Fluff 'n' Puff comfortably. A follow up success is not out of the question and he deserves every respect. In a wide open event Countback and Gee Aker Malayo can also make it into the mix, but Imperative is the youngest in the line up and can only improve with each race, he gets our tentative vote.
