In depth

Verdict

Red Man Ray may be able to land an open looking handicap. True, he hasn't run for some time but fitness is rarely a concern for horses from this yard and this is a suitable starting point for the resumption of his career. He didn't show a great deal over hurdles but fared a little better on his debut over fences which came on his final start and is bred to be effective at this game. There are concerns over both the ground and the trip but he's unlikely to be risked if the conditions aren't suitable. Inn For The Dancer did win a chase in April but has been well held on two subsequent starts and of more interest may be chasing newcomers Val Du Ciron and Shire. The former has weakened quickly on his last two starts which is a concern but he has travelled quite sweetly on both occasions and is interesting. Shire has done little in his obligatory three runs in qualifying for a mark and the market can guide. Arctic Cove and Lanos deserve a mention but our vote goes to Red Man Ray.
