    Verdict

Dual Irish point-to-point winner Ballylanigan can land the opener for the Gordon Elliot yard. Admittedly those contests between the flags were pretty weak events but the selection made a pleasing racecourse debut where he failed to trouble the eventual winner but a re-production of that effort should see involved in a weak event. Fellow Irish raider Yachvili was a very easy winner over course and distance last time, evidently appreciating the drop in class. It is worth noting that the favourite in that contest, Norminster is a maiden after 27 attempts. This will prove a stiffer test under a penalty for James Lambe's charge. La Pantera Rosa has steadily improved throughout his career. Final Veto is another each way alternative as he attempts this distance for the first time; he returns after a break of 99 days. Ballylanigan is selected to break his maiden tag.
