Verdict

Providing the ground stays on top BUAILTEOIR looks worth siding with in a fascinating handicap chase. Evan Williams' runner had struggled on soft ground before showing himself to be capable when faced with more suitable conditions at Stratford. He carries a penalty here but the horse he beat rates a solid yardstick and off a lovely racing weight he can beat the likes of Ballyvesey. After a rather lean winter Peter Bowen has his runners in solid form and he's always a potent force during the summer. His horse managed to win decisively at Market Rasen despite the saddle slipping and a similar display would see him involved despite a higher mark. Rifleman is consistent and goes well here but at 10-years-old he's not hiding anything from the assessor, similar comments apply to Petit Margot who wants softer ground too while Native City is dropping back to a nice mark but hasn't shown much promise this year. Buailteoir gets the vote from the foot of the weights.
