Sea Map can open his account at the expense of fellow four-year-old Kanpai, with Grand Slam Hero best of the older generation. There is quite a bit of dead wood here, and the two younger contenders may well end up fighting out the finish. Preference is for Sea Map who looks to be going the right way based on his four efforts over timber so far. A winner on the all-weather at Wolverhampton in the past, he may well have opened his account at Huntingdon last time but for a blunder three out. In the end he went down by a head to the odds-on Amarula Ridge, and must surely go one better before too long. Kanpai always seems to find one or too a bit too good, but may well have got bogged down in the testing conditions at Fontwell last time and should be given another chance to prove himself. There should be little between the pair, but our selection has the more scope and is preferred. Best of the remainder may well be Grand Slam Hero who ran out of steam over further at Hereford last time, but a place is all that he can hope for. All in all, it is Sea Map that is the one to be on.
