        Verdict

        With a useful apprentice cancelling out a ratings rise for victory last time out we have to side with GWILYM to take his third win in four starts ahead of the fairly treated Great Charm and Resplendent Alpha. The selection bounced back well from breaking a blood vessel to get back to winning ways last time. He only just got his head in front but the race has a good look about it and he is well treated with his pilot's claim removing weight. While Gwilym is the pick it is interesting that Hayley Turner removes herself for him after guiding the gelding to both recent successes to partner Great Charm. While it might be a case that she is riding for her main employer her mount Great Charm did shape with more promise when dropped to this mark last time and should go well. Resplendent Alpha is below his last winning mark on his preferred surface for the first time since recording that victory so should run a good race at a price while Onceuponatime looks weighted for a challenge now returning to handicap company. This looks quite competitive but Gwilym is the form animal and has the vote.
