In depth

Verdict

Scottish River, York Cliff and Lady Taverner all look to have solid claims in the finale and the vote is given to Scottish River. The selection won well here last time when beating Glendale having previously gone close behind the unexposed Lord of Dreams. He goes well here, is in good heart and should take all the beating. York Cliff rates the main danger as he was a good second behind Sand Repeal prior to running well yesterday, but he has yet to prove that he stays tonight's trip and for that reason he is hard to back with any confidence. Lady Taverner was a fair second behind Le Soleil at Folkestone last time and she did beat York Cliff here back in December, but on these revised terms York Cliff should be capable of turning the tables. Archirondel was well-backed and ran a fair race on his return from a long break last time so he may again be worth noting in the market. However, for the winner we will stick with Scottish River.
