Bekoning can defy a penalty to follow up, with Tequila Rose, Berties Brother and Stoneacre Girl seen as potential dangers. This race should not take too much winning, and despite a six-pound anchor for his recent Southwell claiming victory, Bekoning should have enough improvement to follow up. This will be only his eighth appearance on a racecourse, and as a half-brother to Calcutta, he should get better as he gets older. In addition, Micky Quinn has his team in good form generally at present which also augurs well for the chances of Bekoning. Tequila Rose is still a maiden but led until two out when tried over seven furlongs at Southwell last time so this drop in trip should help, while Berties Brother will appreciate this trip, having won over it at Lingfield the time before last. Stoneacre Girl has been hard to place, but her up-and-coming trainer will no doubt find a suitable opening for her soon and she may even reach the frame at a decent price today. However, Bekoning has the best credentials and is the one to beat.
