Obe Bold has been knocking at the door and is taken to come good at the expense of Percy Douglas, Eternally and Feminist to name but a few. Obe Bold has not won since scoring at Redcar in August 2004 off a mark of 62, but has slipped down the ratings and now finds himself plying his trade in Banded company. His last three outings here have all been most encouraging, Alan Berry's charge having been placed on each occasion, and the form of his latest second to Auentraum was given a boost when that one followed up here on Monday. All in all, Obe Bold has solid credentials and looks the one to be on. Percy Douglas has benefited from the fitting of a tongue-tie of late, but his best recent form has been on the Fibresand at Southwell, and on today's terms he will surely struggle to confirm placings with Eternally, three lengths third to him last week. Feminist has won here before but has not been in the best of heart so is passed over, and for the winner it just has to be Obe Bold.
