A race perhaps lacking strength in depth and narrow preference is for ROBUST WISH ahead of Before The War and newcomer Right Grand. The selection has three runs under his belt and has certainly shaped with plenty of promise. His latest run behind Dahaam looks fairly solid form and if the first-time blinkers have the effect then this 79-rated gelding could be hard to beat. Bubbly Bellini has shown promise in his short career to date and his official rating of 74 looks about right; he has a little to prove over this trip and is taken on accordingly. Before The War looks a typical improver from the Luca Cumani yard and he shaped with a degree of promise at Kempton on debut, My Grand Duke cost a fair bit and has lots of winners on his dam's side, whilst Right Grand's pedigree suggests that this sort of trip could be ideal. Seamster is rated better than his two starts; there are feasible excuses for both and he may be more at home now granted this consistent surface. Stefanki seemed to regress from first to second runs although it was a better race, whilst any market support for the filly Riviera Chic should be noted. The vote here is given to Robust Wish who sets a good standard to aim at.
